THE FEUD CONTINUES
...On the following Smackdown, we are told by Michael Cole that Flyin Brian Pillman was taken to the hospital for a possible concussion and internal bruising. But that he has since, been given a good bill of health and will return to action on Monday Night RAW. We are then shown footage of the past RAW and the vicious attack from Bray Wyatt. Later that evening, we are treated to a Bray Wyatt promo video. In the video, he once again claims that he will show the world how much of a monster he is when he destroys Brian Pillman. And also, very cryptically, he speaks of showing the world the true Brian Pillman.
At the beginning of RAW, Lilian Garcia interviews Brian backstage. She asks him about his match tonight and if he has any concerns of Bray Wyatt interfering again. Pillman states that he "has no idea what that guys problem is. But if he wants a fight, I can give him one."
Later in the night we return from commercial break to see Brian Pillman enthusiastically making his entrance to the ring. After standing on the 2nd turnbuckle and pointing to some fans his music fades out. We are then exposed to the grand entrance of the immortal one. The Legend. Yep, you guessed it, Curtis Axle. Axlemania runs wild all the way to the ring. Once in the ring, Axle proceeds to tear his shirt off and do some all too familiar 80’s style muscle flexing. Not 2 seconds later, Flyin Brian drop kicks Curtis in the face and the bell rings, thus starting the match.
The fact that the powers that be have decided NOT to make a match between Wyatt and Pillman after Wyatt’s attack seems a little absurd. Almost as if they were planning something more with them two. As if building towards something.
During the match, Curtis Axle proves that he can jobber to the stars just as good as anyone. It’s a series of quick shots and a high spot or two on Brian’s behalf. Flyin Brian does a flying cross body on Axle and knocks him to the mat. Just as Pillman is ready to pin Axle, the lights go out and Bray Wyatt’s music starts to play. Thousands of cellphones light up the arena.
Pillman looks toward the Titantron screen in a fighting stance, ready for Bray to rush out. As the house lights turn back on, Curtis Axle, from behind, rolls up Pillman in a school boy for the 1-2-3. The bell rings and Pillman looks around in disbelief as Axle raises his hands in victory.
Suddenly Bray Wyatt appears on the big screen. He mocks Brian saying that Pillman is easily swayed and distracted and will have no choice but to follow him to Hell and follow the buzzards. He laughs as the screen flashes off.
Angry and frustrated, Pillman starts beating the holy living Hell out of Curtis Axle. He tosses Axle out of the ring and then, yelling, leaves the ring and goes to the back.
As refs and medical staff attend to Axle, Michael Cole and Booker T state their surprise at Brian Pillman’s behavior in attacking Axle. JBL says that Pillman is frustrated and Wyatt is getting into Pillman’s head and under his skin. We are then shown, on replay, the distracted Pillman losing the match to Axle, then the attack on Axle from Pillman. We then roll to a camera backstage showing Pillman flipping the catering table and yelling for Bray Wyatt. He then disappears through a door. Once again, Michael Cole sees fit to once again show us the ending footage to the Axle/Pillman match. We then see the backstage area again and see Paige walking down the hallway. We are told that she is set to go 1 on 1 with Nikki Bella, NEXT! We cut to commercial...
